This interactive 3D scene renders a cyberpunk-inspired metropolis alive with activity. The environment includes tall neon-lit buildings, a central plaza, street lamps, trees, flying drones, and futuristic cars — all set within a glowing city grid. The simulation runs in real-time using WebGL via the p5.js library, with orbit control for user navigation. A central feature of this simulation is the dynamic day-night cycle, which smoothly transitions the lighting and background color over time. The brightness of ambient light, directional shadows, and the color tone of the sky adjust continuously using a sine wave based on the frame count, creating a sense of passing time. Key Components: Buildings: Randomly placed within a grid. Each has a unique height and hue based on a central base color to create visual harmony. Stars: Hundreds of 3D star particles populate the sky, visible primarily at night, enhancing the depth and atmosphere. Drones: Small spheres that hover and gently oscillate, adding movement and life to the sky. Flying Cars: Box-shaped vehicles with directional movement. They bounce back upon hitting the city boundaries or buildings, simulating autonomous traffic. Central Plaza: A glowing hub at the city center, giving the scene a focal point. Streetlights: Tall poles with glowing orbs cast point lights onto the platform and surroundings at night. Trees: Stylized cyberpunk trees made from cylinders and spheres, placed in unused grid spots for visual variety. Lighting: A mix of ambient and directional lights during the day, and glowing colored lights from cars and streetlamps at night. The code uses the HSB color mode to manage hue shifts and control visual effects smoothly. It also adapts to screen resizing and supports mouse interaction with orbitControl(), allowing users to pan and zoom around the city.
